I recommend that anyone in photography keep this in mind. Sometimes it is easy to forget some of the simple things. Sometimes upcoming photogs need a little info. Sometimes we just need an awesome come back to the ill informed clients that think it is just the camera that makes the image. The image was found here. I give all credit to Shoot FLY Shoot.
The dreaded picture day happened at school again this year. For some reason the school does not learn and they continue to use Lifetouch. The images come out blurry and soft. Maybe that is the photog in me? Maybe not? I am not sure if there have been other non photographers that have noticed it or not. It bugs the living daylights out of me. Then there is the fact that the school wants you to go ahead and buy the images before hand. You do not know what you are going to get in those photos. Are you going to get food on the face? Marker on the shirt? a funky smile? Glue in the hair? YOU JUST DO NOT KNOW! Yet they want you to go ahead and buy them blindly. I went ahead and took Mr. M’s photos before I sent him off to school.

Mr. M turned five! It is insane how fast time has went by. As a photographer and his mom I of course had to take his 5 year old photos. They are here. I hope you as my followers enjoy the light of my life.
Isn’t he just the cutest thing ever!?!?!?! I will admit that it took bribery to get the pictures done. What was the bribery? Minecraft!!!!!
This is going to be the first post of before and after. This post belongs with the previous beverage post. I am still reeling about how well that shoot went. I cannot wait for the feedback that I will recieve on those images. I had the idea of what I wanted to do for the images, then I went hunting on Pinterest for a little more push for inspiration. Upon scrolling through the massive amounts of pins, I found what I wanted.
This was an amazingly fun shoot today! These beverage images are going to be part of my portfolio. It is amazing how the cream was mixing with the coffee and ice. The thing I did for my cream was use melted ice cream with a little bit of milk. I do have to say you have to improvise if you do not have actual cream on hand.
I have been doing some much needed work in my studio lately. Well…. Honestly I have been trashing it! I have been doing some major moving and rearranging and making backdrops.
Love that chaotic mess? I know that I do. It was so much fun. I even made tulle balls!
However my child stole them from me to make trees for his Dino Island. So I need to make more for myself.
My tulle overlay backdrop.
Here is my new backdrop storage system, as well one backdrop that I am working on.
Then today my baby came in. The beauty that I have been waiting on. My savage seamless thunder gray backdrop.
It photographs so beautifully.
This is part of my updated studio, there is more to come, most definitely, more work to do.
As all have seen I got creative last night with items on hand and made props for Valentine’s Day. My finished product is amazing in my eyes. However I may be biased due to it is my son. He was so ready to come this morning up bright and early!!! I however just wanted to sleep.
The image is edited with a preset cslled velvet butter, it is for Lightroom from The Coffeeshop Blog . I did some tweaking to it as well.
Check Coffeeshop Blog for her amazing presets! She regularly updates.
