I think that we have come to the conclusion that I am so FAIL at keeping up with a blog, but I swear that I am trying to get the hang of it. I have so much that I can post about, but I can never seem to remember to post. I will get better at this I promise. I have some food that I have cooked and taken photos of as well as having the recipe for you if you are interested.
School is going pretty good I think, I still have an A in my art class and I am pulling up my grade in my math class. It’s coming to the end of semester, which is over November 17th. I have a worksheet left and a final test in math and in art I have an essay and a final. Lots of studying that I need to do but I am having a bit of a time finding the time to study. I have to say that it is hard to manage school and a little one running around all the time.
I have come up with a new idea, rather a friend mentioned it but I just have to do it. It is a newsletter for my son and about my son. It will be about how he is progressing with everything since he is a bit behind. It will have what he likes, what he is learning and learned as well as what crafts that we do. I will also be including photos in the newsletter as well. I think it will be nice for family to know how things are going with him since we do not live close to a lot of family.
I am by all means not a professional photographer, which is why I am in school, I will post photos that I take, and I will admit I do edit some. I believe that I don’t over edit most of my photos, just enhance them a little bit. I like to have people see what I see when I took the photo. Some may be bright as I think that they look a ton better that way, most photos though may be of my son as I love photographing him at every chance that I get.
Today I had a job interview at Sears Photo Studio; I have the job as long as my background check comes back clean. I know that it will, but it is going to be a big change being away from the little one. I have a hard time juggling everything as is right now; I know this will be difficult.
I am sure that we have noticed that I am horrible at keeping a blog, but please bear with me. Hopefully I will get better at it and it will be enjoyable for everyone to read. I know that my last blog said that I would have something up for “pics for pets” but that has not worked out to my liking yet, I am still working on that.. . . . .. In the meantime I don’t think I can make this strictly an “in my journey to becoming a photographer” blog, just for the simple fact there is so much going on that doesn’t have to do with me. So I figure that I can make this blog into a few different things.. That can range from pinterest, food, and other people. There are many things that I do find interesting, and would like to pass that information on. So everyone please bear with me when it comes to this as it is a whole new world to me and me sharing everything that is appropriate.
With further a due, I think that I can get this blog rolling now that I have come up with more I can talk about. There are many things still going on with school. Speaking of which; I received and email today about GPA and the graduation grant that I am getting, to sum it up I need to pull my gpa up in order to keep it. Let’s hope come November 17th, 2012 that I will have a 2.5 GPA. Yes I know that is a low number but as I sit right now I have a 2.0gpa. Before your mouths completely drop to the floor let me clarify. . . . . . Classes go 5.5 weeks at a time; you take 2 classes at a time as well. Well my first set of classes was:MTH099 Basic Mathematics and ART1000 Introduction to the Visual Arts. I got a B in the math and a C in the art (I SWEAR THAT TEACHER HATED ME). Well come to find out that a B and a C equals a 2.0gpa. So I have to work my butt off get it above 2.5 and keep it there. The way things are looking as of right now in my 2 classes that end on the 17th I will have a B in math and an A in art, so that would bring up my gpa to 2.6,I then will be in the clear by just .1.That is a plus, now I really have to work my butt off and stick to it no matter how much I want to quit or throw my laptop due to assignments taking forever or just plain difficult.
My journey to becoming a photographer!
A little about me: My name is Melissa Norman, I go by Missy as well. I am 25 years old and I have a 2 year old son that consumes most of my time. He is the light of my life and my main subject.. I am also going to school art The Art Institute of Pittsburgh Online Division to get my Associates in Photography. I also love to cook and do crafts and DIY projects.
I am learning balance and patience. When it comes to school work and taking care of a toddler that always wants your attention, I am honestly finding it a little difficult. I am getting there though. I am pushing through and making my way. I will do what I have to become the best that I can be. I know there will be ups and downs; there will be bumps here and there. I will want to give up and quit but I cannot let that happen.
I hope you will find enjoyment out of this blog; I will post anything and everything I take pictures of. I will post before and after edits, even if I do a craft or project with the 2 year old it will be posted on here for everyone’s viewing.. I hope to hear your comments good and bad, they are all welcome. If I find some good information about photography I will post and link it here as well.
I will be bringing everyone along with my struggles, rants, ups and downs, good and bad on my journey to becoming a photographer.
