An Accomplishment! I did it!

I have to say that as of June 20th I am officially done with college. I now have my Associate of Science in Photography. Along with that I graduated with honors! I have to say that now that I am not in school anymore I have no idea what to do with myself. I have just been in the school zone for such a long time that is really all I know! Now to get out of it and look for a job. The transition in between is hard. I figured that I would take a little break and spend some of the summer not focused on school and work. However as I am sitting here I find myself with technically nothing to do. That silence is crazy insane, I just do not know what to do!

Congrats to myself!!!!! I did it!

An assignment called to show me in my hobbies.

My new class had started every thing going as usual, do the bio, do the comments. Then I read a little more….. Take some photos of you in with in your hobbies. I instantly had a couple of things come to mind which were music and reading. I am always doing one or the other. The part of shooting me doing them is what got me. These images are the beginning, it has sparked my thought process for something more.

Have you searched?

I do a random search at different times. Do you? I do this search on myself. It is fun to see what there is out there about me and how much.  I did one recently that made me realize there is a TON of stuff out there on my business name.  I mean Holy crap!  I would not have thought.  I out the search in different ways, with and without spaces, I even went to image search.  It also made me realize to even put a quick watermark on my uploaded photos from my cellphone. 

Now I do have this question, should I go back through pull my images down an mark them? I’m thinking so, especially the few that I have put up here without my watermark.  I seen them in my search. 

What have you found out about yourself during your searches?

In doing this it has made me also realize I have seriously slacked in uploading to my stock sites. It also brought to my attention that only one stock site came up when I sell on three. Hmmm….

Finding Myself and Describing it for My Work!

It has been a long road in my recent class! However I am grateful for it and will be missing it when it is over. It is Portfolio Exploration, I love this class and wish that it is longer. Here in the recent weeks I have learned so much about branding, identity, and what I want to and should be doing with my work. At first I was going to be a generalist. Now I am going to be going towards the commercial and advertisement work. I am extremely happy with that decision and the push from my instructor. I will forever be grateful for what she has shown me.

Now with the most recent assignment, it is about marketing and self promotion materials. I have found so many things that I want to work with in that aspect. I will have to compile everything and find what I like the best. There are so many ways to self promote.

Do any of you have any tried and true ideas for self promotion?
